1. Q:What is PLA?
A:PLA is stand for Poly Lactic Acid and the scientific name called Polylactide.
PLA is extracted from sugar of the plant(starch), through fermentation become Lactic Acid then polymerize become 100% can be decomposed Renewable material(PLA).
2. Q:PLA characteristics and advantage?
A:

    Characteristics of PLA products:

  • Made from 100% renewable resources, PLA is non-toxic, and fully compostable.
  • PLA does not decompose under nomal atmospheric condition unless the following conditions are met:
    Proper humidity (relative humidity 90% or above)
    Sufficient oxygen (non-confined environment)
    Appropriate temperature (58 ~ 70 ℃)
    Bacterial and microorganisms
    6 weeks later start to decompose and after 180 days decompose completed and become water and carbon dioxide.
  • All plastic processing methods applicable: extrusion, injection, blow and vacacum
  • Very low heat from burning as paper
  • No toxic gases released when burning

  • Temperature resistance -20℃~110℃

  • Do not use on stove or in oven
  • Do not use utensil to scrape or rub the product
3. Q:What is decompose material?
A:PLA does not decompose under nomal atmospheric condition unless the following conditions are met:
Proper humidity (relative humidity 90% or above)
Sufficient oxygen (non-confined environment)
Appropriate temperature (58 ~ 70 ℃)
Bacterial and microorganisms
6 weeks later start to decompose and after 180 days decompose completed and become water and carbon dioxide.
4. Q:How to proof decompose material?
A:Through SGS and Intertek certificate approved.
5. Q:Are there any Heavy metal found?
A:Not detected in PLA,Meet Rohs standard certificated by SGS and Intertek.
6. Q:If products put in air will be composed?
A:No please refer to the answer of question 3 above.
7. Q:could it be decomposed while buried in the soil of PLA products?
A:PLA does not decompose under nomal atmospheric condition unless the following conditions are met:
Proper humidity (relative humidity 90% or above)
Sufficient oxygen (non-confined environment)
Appropriate temperature (58 ~ 70 ℃)

8. Q:If use corn as raw material which will cause lack of food in the world? Is the price stable?
A:Corn field is huge in many countries also from sweet potato, potato, Cassava, yam, rice, wheat etc. which have rich starch can be used. So far we don’t have such circumstances.
Because of in huge planting of corn the price is very cheaper and stable.
9. Q:Is PLA made of genetic modification corn?
A:No, through test found that it is not from genetic modification corn. And through fermentation the bad factors will be physically changed to Lactic Acid Like wheat through fermentation become wine.
10. Q:Is PLA expensive that Plastic? How much higher?
A:From Petroleum price now PLA price is higher about 30% than PP,ABS,PE,PET but cheaper than special functional plastics like PC, Nylon etc. PLA is Eco-friendly material.
11. Q:Use Corn to make PLA which is decompose and eco-friendly products. Could it cause the lack of food?
A:Corn field is huge in many countries also from sweet potato, potato, Cassava, yam, rice, wheat etc. which have rich starch can be used. So far we don’t have such circumstances.
12. Q:Why PLA products called Eco-Friendly?
A:From Corn (not only from Corn but also from sweet potato, potato, Cassava, yam, rice, wheat etc. which plant have rich starch) to make PLA products, after use and while you don’t want it and discard >> compostable become water and carbon dioxide (back to nature).
Water and carbon dioxide is the nutrition of plant so PLA compost and planting is good cycle for the earth and avoid secondary pollution.
13. Q:How to handle it while discard?
A:Bury, Compost, Incineration (Burn),Recycle.
14. Q:Could PLA products be recycling like plastic?
A:Yes, PLA can be recycling and recognized as international recycling mark in triangle which No.is 7 and under triangle must be marked with PLA. On all our products can be seeing this mark on the bottom.
15. Q:Any toxic gases and smell while burning?
A:PLA is made of Corn starch which full of sugar so smell like caramel while burning and no black smoke only small white smoke.
